Mark Podgorski, VP of Hospital Operations, Goshen Health and incoming (2017) United Way of Elkhart County Board Chair, is a passionate United Way advocate in addition to his role at the hospital. Along with Amy Floria, the hospital’s CFO, they partnered with Accretive of Indiana and its alliance partners found a creative & unique means to support United Way of Elkhart County through the use of “FoundRaising™”. “We were impressed with cost savings approach presented by Accretive of Indiana and couldn’t be happier with the results”, stated Mark Podgorski. “I am very excited about the prospects going forward of working with Accretive of Indiana. Their shared savings model that helped identify hidden cost savings for us is another great way to support United Way of Elkhart County.” Mike Topa, Accretive of Indiana, added, “It’s very rewarding to see our win-win approach open new funding for United Way and its beneficiary charitable organizations. This offers a new channel for fund raising that benefits local businesses at the same time. The Goshen Health team was incredibly supportive, which was a big reason the effort was successful. Hopefully this is just the beginning of more shares savings projects to come with the hospital.” United Way of Elkhart County has been creating long-lasting changes since 1922 by addressing the underlying causes of problems. When we LIVE UNITED, Elkhart County does more.
